On September 5, 2006, V-Guard customer called GPS Tech’s 24-hours Emergency Service Center (ESC) and informed that her vehicle, a Nissan Murano, had been hi-jacked when she arrived at her office at KL. As she got off her car, two men ambushed her with a gun asking her for all her belongings and her car keys. They drove off immediately.  As soon as GPS Tech’s ESC was alerted by V-Guard customer, immediate real-time satellite tracking on customer’s Murano was done. Even though vehicle was moving at a high speed of 110km an hour, ESC manage to immmoblize the vehicle through V-Guard’s Dynamic Immobilization safety feature whereby the vehicle would only stopped when its speed dropped to within a safe speed limit.
ESC immediately sent its own 24-hours nationwide Emergency Recovery Team to the site to recover the vehicle. The Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) was also alerted, and 3 patrol cars rushed to the incident location. Customer’s car was recovered within 30 minutes of reported incident. Vehicle was eventually handed back to the owner by the PDRM. This is another real case recovery by V-Guard, Malaysia’s premier GPS automated vehicle security and locating system.
